Katie earned her bachelors of science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Southern Indiana in 2010. She enjoyed providing dental hygiene services for over 13 years. During her career as a dental hygienist Katie observed signs of myofunctional disorders, but when her own children started to struggle with sleep disordered breathing she knew this was a field she desired to dedicate the rest of her career to. In 2022 she continued her formal education first with the AOMT, and then with Airway Circle’s MYO Circle internship.
Katie has since completed hundreds of hours of continuing education with a focus on sleep apnea, sleep coaching, restricted airways, craniofacial development, and the way orofacial myofunctional disorders affect the rest of the body.
She has experienced the improvements of orofacial myofunctional therapy personally and within her family. Katie is passionate about identifying airway issues and disorders in children and adults alike.
In her free time Katie loves to spend time outside, hike, and attend church with her 3 children and husband Phil. She loves audiobooks, wildflowers, coffee, music, and walking.
